don't say that word!!!!

You know what word scares me quite often? COMMITMENT (OOooOOooohhh *shivers*)Why does this word scare me? Because it means that I am now obligated to do everything in my power to carry out a specific task. I am now obligated to try my hardest at doing what is required of me and guess what, I am also held accountable! I now must be intentional about everything that I do.
So now I have to put myself on a schedule, cut out some of those bad spending habits, cut sleep a little short, fast from frivolous and idle play time, etc.
A lot of people fail due to lack of commitment. To be committed requires you to be consistent. To be consistent is to be fixed and constantly devoted to something.

It starts with a vision/idea, then you make it plain, then comes being committed to giving birth to the vision. When following through as it pertains to a vision, thought, idea you must understand that you have your plans but it won't always go according to your plans. If you understand that at the beginning, your perspective will be broadened and when things go wrong, you'll be able to think quick on your feet and bounce back in a timely manner. You also must understand that your timing may not be precise. This is not a physical pregnancy (notice I said physical because it is a pregnancy) you cannot "induce labor" when you feel like "it's about that time" yet you don't have all your ducks in a row and things are still "premature"). You must be disciplined to be fully effective in the assignment at hand. To be disciplined you must practice time management and make yourself do it even when you don't feel like it. The goals/milestones you have set for your vision must be a priority. Give yourself room to make mistakes but be adamant enough to learn, grow and push pass those mistakes and try your best not to make the same mistakes.

What helps me is remembering why I began in the first place? Also, if I were to be successful, who would it benefit other than myself? I ask myself certain questions, as it pertains to certain assignments/projects, and write the answers and reflect on them constantly.
Commitment doesn't just pertain to the "big" things in our lives. If you want a dog, a child, to eat healthier, to learn a second language, to keep a tidier home, to better maintenance your car, etc - it all requires commitment! I am about to start this exercising journey (for the umpteenth time). This will be my first time committing to the healthy lifestyle process because previous times I was ill-motivated and lacked enthusiasm. This time around I have a trainer, a better attitude, and a great goal and focus in mind! I know that I need to build my endurance, leg and core strength, and build muscle. I also want to focus on flexibility and agility!
When starting a new writing project, I put myself on a schedule and make deadlines so that I can get things done.
I am planning to build a repertoire of choreography just in case I am asked to minister for an event. So that would involve me managing my time, setting deadlines, and taking care of my physical and spiritual health.
Each semester of school I must be committed to each day of school, make sure I get every assignment completed in excellence, and be studious in my studies so that I will be prepared for every exam.

I've never heard someone say that committing is easy. Anything that is easy probably doesn't have much value and only has short-term satisfaction. Make the choice to be committed to the assignment, be committed to your future, and be committed to being the best you that you can be. You won't know reward until you first know commitment.

Until next time,
I LOVE YOU!
