"Let all that I am wait quietly before God,
for my hope is in Him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress where I will not be
shaken...(v. 5-6)
O my people, trust in Him at all times.
Pour out your heart to Him,
for God is our refuge. (v. 8)"
As humans we long for attention.
Love.
Care.
We want to know that someone loves us.
Longs for us.
Wants us.
Needs us.
Would risk their lives for us.
And although we know and accept that God
can and will
satisfy all those cravings,
there is a part of us that feels like it isn't enough.
Because we cannot place God in the physical.
We want to see Him.
Touch Him.
Hug and kiss Him.
Nestle in His arms.
Place our tiny bodies in His huge hands.
We desperately want to be the woman/man
who gets the chance to wash His feet.
We want to tag along like the disciples.
We want to look in His face and smile at Him
while we sing and dance and
offer our sacrifice of worship.
And for some of us, we do want to physically die for Him.
Our cravings run deep. So deep.
God created us with cravings for a reason.
Because they are to be given to Him.
So whenever you're desperate for love, attention, etc
please, reach out to God.
Not habits, people, or things.
These cravings will never ever go away.
Refer to them as "thorns" if you will
but they are a part of what makes
you human.
God created you to fit Him perfectly.
He is the only One who can
truly satisfy you.
"The world will offer us comfort in the form of escapes.
But they are very temporary.
We feel good in the moment but
the good never stays"
(Craving God, 2013).
Read Psalm 63: 1-8 (or your go-to verse)
whenever you need help satisfying a craving.
Re-direct your focus to God. We must seek Him in ALL things.
